Here you go folks. Easier than it looks, it's Station Bouzouki. Popular in Greece, the Bouzouki is related to the Lute, and the name comes from the Turkish word bozuk, meaning modified (or broken).

But I guess you really just want to work out what the station is. PMs, please!

So well done to trains500 and tubeguru, for almost-correctly identifying Station Bouzouki. Yes, just one stop down the line from Station Zulu, Bouzouki is Ardrossan Harbour. I say 'almost-correctly', because both submissions had the first 'r' replaced with an 'n', but they were near enough.

I'm not quite sure how I didn't get that!

I got that it was in Scotland, and that it was an electrified terminus of a single track line, and that it was in a coastal location (from the masts on the right hand side) and I checked all such lines in my rail atlas against Google satellite view.

I can only think that I had assumed that the boats were in the water, and thought that as Ardrossan Harbour has the water on the left side, it couldn't be there!

Once Robbie had given the answer, I went on Streetview and saw exactly that!
However I hadn't previousy got as far as looking on Streetview as even a zoomed-out aerial image showed the water to be on the "wrong" side.
It was only after zooming in (again, after Robbie had given the answer) that I realised the boats were on land!

Okay folks, back from my travels! Here’s another station named after a musical instrument – Station Cajón. From the Spanish word meaning ‘crate’, ‘box’ or similar, the cajón is a box-shaped percussion instrument which you sit on, and slap it on the backs and sides to make low and high noises. It can be very useful as a ‘substitute drumkit’ in a small band setting.

Incidentally, be careful when writing the word ‘cajón’ that you don’t accidentally replace the ‘a’ with another ‘o’; it’s a common misspelling. However, the resulting Spanish word means something very different. And if you sit on one of those and slap it on the backs and sides, you certainly will get low and high noises of a very different kind…

I was waiting for a response to my question, even if it was a ’no’! I’ll take your comment as that response.

It’ll be a few days before I can upload Station Dulcimer, so in the meantime, I’ll congratulate trains 500 for correctly guessing Cajón, and leave everyone else with a hint:

Hint: Station Cajón is on one of the very oldest lines on the network.

Here you are then, another terminus from the camera of RobbieM. It’s Station Dulcimer.

As a musical instrument, the Dulcimer has many forms, but it is a stringed instrument which developed from the Zither, and is often struck with hammers. Though it is often strummed/plucked etc.

I’m sure you wanted to know that. But maybe you just want to work out the station, and PM me your answer!
