Pointless

Post by RJSRdg »

Final round on Pointless this (Friday) afternoon. Name:

* Any Underground stations which were on the 1936 Tube map but which are not on the latest edition.
* Any Underground stations with North, South, East or West in their name [unlike the Points of the Compass Challenge, these do not need to be separate words]
* Any Underground station served by three or more lines.

Mile End was a Pointless answer, the other two weren't.

My first thought were:
a) I wonder if they would accept stations that still exist now but had different names back then (e.g. Post Office) - is it specifically the station or the name that they are looking for?

b) Would they allow stations that appeared on the 1936 map in name on an arrow (e.g. Southend)?

c) Are they only considering London Underground stations, or more widely on the "Current Tube Map"?

Assuming no to all the above, I'll go for:
1. Northwood Hills
2. Strand
3. Euston Square

I'm assuming the pointless answers for the 1936 one will be on the lines to Southend or Aylesbury, assuming they were on that map and count, and maybe to Watford Junction, so is there a way of getting the Pointless answers list? Was Windsor on the map as well?

One for each from my me:
Bushey
South Wimbledon
West Ham
Tumbleweed and former Nimbleweed Scorekeeper

Winner of Gumbleweeds V, VI + XI, Nimbleweeds I, III - IX + XIV and (joint with GuyBarry) winner of Timesnap

And most importantly, Former leader of Tumbleweed, and first person to 250,000

The relevant section starts at roughly 37m 30s into https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m ... episode-39 with the pointless answers given from around 42m 10s
First to 100000 in the 2015+ Tumbleweed contest. Winner of a few rounds of a diverse range of quizzes/games. Some decent times in alternative challenges as a fiftysomething who merely walks briskly. Briefly led All The Actons.
