All change please! An update from me

Post by xcooler123 »

Hope everyone is keeping safe and well.

I would normally tell people at the pub but since that won't be happening for a little while longer, I thought I would at least share it on here. After almost 4.5 years at Avanti West Coast (and Virgin Trains prior to that), I will be moving on to pastures new and taking up the role of Project Officer - Transport Projects at West Yorkshire Combined Authority based in Leeds at the end of September. I have enjoyed my time at Avanti but it is time to take the next step in my career. I will still be involved with the railways in my new role in and around West Yorkshire (plus all other types of transport projects) so I'm not completely leaving the industry. I will (finally!) be moving out of home (again!) and living up there which is exciting as it's an area I know very little about and have never really explored. When Tube Challenging in all its various guises is back up and running, I will still be looking to come to down to London to participate where possible.

Looking forward to meeting up with everyone sooner rather than later :D

Congratulations and good luck!

Lovely part of the world. I've got friends who live just outside Huddersfield. 20 minutes walk from their front door and you're on the Pennine Way. They've got lots of opinions on the Leeds to Manchester route if you need a biased sample set :D
