I now have the day booked off so will do it whether anyone else is doing it or not (unless the weather is as foul as it is now!). Anyone else who wants to take part is of course also welcome.

However more than happy for it to be done on another date/year as well, especially as we also have Barry Cryer (23/3/35-25/1/22) to commemorate...

It's very tempting, but I'm going to give it a miss as I'm trying to save annual leave up at the moment and don't fancy taking a day off and heading to London for a relatively short challenge with little chance of socialising. My route will have to wait for yet another day.

Today's run was about par for the course -some good connections, some bad connections, a blunder or two and an injury niggle. But resulted in a new record time by twenty seconds!

Started at Finchley Road (slightly later than planned as my phone decided to reboot itself just as I wanted to take the first photo and start the watch, so I had to get off that train and wait for the next Uxbridge), up the Met through Preston Road to Rayner's Lane. Decent southbound connection on the Picc to Park Royal where a bus was just about to move off outside. Hopped on that (thanks to traffic not sure how much time I saved, but it at least saved some wear and tear on my joints! Over to Hanger Lane, at that point with about 40 minutes on the clock and hopes of at least being able to knock off the next two stations in the first hour. Unfortunately things started to unravel as the train hopped from one red light to another along the stretch through East Acton towards White City (I suspect someone may have been pulling some strings to protect her time... ).

Consequently the hour was up by White City, but the run to Wood Lane went well albeit better than it needed to as I had a short wait for a southbound H&C. Good to see dear old Television Centre looking much better than it has done in the last few years!

Sexy change at Goldhawk Road almost missed owing to being distracted by a sexy passenger! Back up through Latimer Road and out at Royal Oak for the run to Warwick Avenue. Approaching the bridge over the canal, I felt a strange sensation in my left ankle - not painful as such, but was to lead to various levels of discomfort later on.

Down to Edgware Road (Bakerloo) and across the road to Edgware Road (Circle) where the discomfort in my ankle started. Through Baker Street to Great Portland Street, double back and down to Bond Street. Along the Central to NHG, then a good change on to the Circle for High Street Kensington, Gloucester Road, Cannon Street and Liverpool Street. Here I blundered - having just missed an eastbound H&C, I completely forgot that I could have overtaken it by taking the Central Line to Mile end (or even managed to catch an earlier District), and instead waited ten minutes for the next one! Over to Bow Road where out of deference to my ankle I opted not to double back via Mile End, Leytonstone and Leytonstone High Road but instead carried on to Barking and after a short wait caught the GOBLIN there via the bonus stations of Leytonstone High Road, Leyton Midland Road and Walthamstow Queen's Road to Blackhorse Road.

Down the Vic to Finsbury Park, but the clock was ticking and Jenny's time had elapsed by the time I reached Turnpike Lane. Headed back south via the former Gillespie Road, then Holloway Road and Caledonian Road to KXSP. Down on to the Northern to Bank via Old Street, over on the Central to Tottenham Court Road via Chancery Lane, then up through Goodge Street and Warren Street to Mornington Crescent to set a new record for the SLOWEST completion of 4:35:55!

Great write up Rich! Impressed with your dedication to the bonus stations too. Hope the ankle isn't too sore today.
Not a plus one

The "bonus stations" were just ones I happened to pass through anyway that have "Road" in the name but aren't part of the Challenge.

Arguably I passed through York Road as well, but of course didn't stop.

And yes, ankle feels a lot better today but not putting too much stress on it.

TBH I didn't really do much planning! Any planning time has been going towards an FNC attempt hopefully sometime this year.
