DRT on a challenge

Post by al »

Now that TfL have introduced DRT to Ealing, and therefore in the scope (just) of tube stations, would you agree that they are fair game for use on a challenge, or not?

I don't think it will be particularly useful here, but if another trial starts somewhere then it may become a contender.

How many times are you going to post this, out of interest?

(Edit - I assume this one is the one you want to keep, and the duplicate in the other sub-forum can be deleted?)

i think the phrase that makes it dodgy for me is "scheduled public transport". These aren't running to a schedule, at least not how I understand it.

Okay, you might request one to turn up at a particular time, but by that logic a taxi's okay too.

What's DRT?

I believe Guinness Rules (which form the basis of the rules for the other challenges) state *scheduled* public transport. So anything which is not scheduled, including taxis, charter trains, empty stock trains and "not in service" buses, don't count.

DRT - demand response trial

There's a trial in Sutton where I live too - you get them to pick you up at a time to suit - like a taxi
