DLR Challenge

So. I found myself in London this Bank Holiday Monday with a full day to kill. With most tube-challenging activity out of the question for obvious reasons, I turned to the Tube's estranged cousin, the Docklands Light Railway, for my first ever challenge attempt of any sort (woo).
The rules I adopted were simple parallels to the main Tube challenge, including the requirement to arrive or leave every station on a DLR train (a rule you might be tempted to break at Bank / Tower Gateway). For my attempt the DLR itself ran like clockwork, but I was let down by National Rail out of Lewisham. Still, I clocked up a quite respectable time of...
2 hours, 1 minute, 56 seconds
The two hour barrier is quite clearly breakable on a good day... any takers? Or for that matter, has anyone else attempted this before? After all, it seems like a fairly obvious one as far as alternative challenges go...

I used to do the DLR Challenge every day when I lived in Deptford:
Try to get home from Bank without delays. Oh the fun we had ...

thats easy, walk across the river and take southeastern.
(you didn't say you had to use the DLR!)

It wouldn't be a DLR challenge if I took the train though, would it?

I've done the DLR challenge before in the old configuration, I'll be making another attempt soon as my attempt on the latest configuration wasn't too good as we ran 5mph from Canning Town to LCA.

The morning rush hour would probably be the best time to do the DLR challenge, as the frequencies are much higher than at off-peak/weekend times.

I did my DLR challenge on the day of my failed tube attempt (walked from Chalfont back to Amersham in the end!)... and started at around 10.25am, and there were trains every 5 minutes or so, the only major wait was at Stratford.

Sorry for this slight bumping of this thread, but I have smashed the record

.
Today, starting at Shadwell and finishing at Lewisham, I recorded a time of
1 hour, 58 minutes and 31 seconds. Ha!

Congratulations Root.
I was having a look at this one myself the other day...I might be tempted to have a go as I've never been to most of the DLR stations.

Congrats Ollie... as disappointed as I am about losing the record, I'm well chuffed that the one and only bit of tube challenging I've done so far is now an established pursuit and not
just me being weird
Interesting that your route's completely different to mine - I'm sure I'll be racking my brains for days how you did "those" bits...

Neither had I... highly recommended though, you get some very nice views along the way. (Admittedly you also get several million acres of ExCeL car park to sit through... oh well)
