Been there. Done that. Last year. It was not fun!

Substantial part of the Circle Line closed, plus I'm away.
can somebody just decide on a date here and leave the bits oh I'm working I'm away out of it. select a date people say yes or no go ahead organise simple little delays track cancellations can be worked alongside.
As it's my challenge (and effectively also my 40th birthday celebration!) it clearly can't be a day when I'm away or have a prior commitment (22/7, 29/7, 5/8). But yes, otherwise agreed that it's frustrating that people are wanting a change of date.

If Hugo comes back and says he's found out 8th will be OK, we can see how many people are available for that. Otherwise sticking with 12th August.

(If we do stick with 12th, perhaps we could have an option that challengers who are unable to make that date could attempt on 22nd, 29th or 5th and either turn up at the pub on the evening of 12th to declare their route/times or get them to me by some other means. Making more than one attempt on different dates and declaring the quickest one is not allowed!)

I'm not really sure that anyone can claim ownership of a challenge?! Surely people are more than welcome/able to attempt the challenge whenever they like and without prior approval?!!

Yes, of course anyone can attempt any challenge whenever they want (subject to lines being open) but a 'challenge day' be it R15, Zone One, Park, Cannon Street etc generally has a co-ordinator, and I can't co-ordinate this one if I'm not here.

As I agreed my holiday for 22-29th July on the understanding that we'd settled the date for 12th August, I'm as frustrated as anyone that everything seems to be back up in the air again!

OK can we say that 8th July is the first chosen date and keep an eye on the engineering works..
If not possible then this goes ahead on 12th August....

The DLR has not replied to me - so still haven't got a clue about it...

That sounds a sensible compromise :-)

So who's available for 8th July?

8th of July is a no-go, everyone. I've just spoken to TfL Twitter and they say it's a mistake on the PDF which they will be rectifying.

Thanks for the update Hugo. 12th August it is then (apologies to those who can't make that date - though feel free to join us in the pub afterwards if you can't make the whole day).

Do we have a final decision on the pub yet??

I think the general consensus was for the Prince William Henry.

Incidentally, as I'm thinking of doing certificates for the full challenge and each of the three individual challenges, there would be nothing to stop anyone who wasn't going to be available for the whole day to attempt one or more of the sub-challenges (e.g. if KO for Arsenal v Leicester is at 3pm, Elsie could do a Bottle beforehand) to compete for the certificate for that challenge, provided they do not start before 11am.

Got the flights to London via Frankfurt booked up. Just need to plan out my route for the day now and I won't have to make an early exit from the pub this time as well as I'm the only one going!

Train booked but as I have to catch the 20.30 back (it was only £4 on Virgin sale!) I will be starting the Triple Crown run at 10am & my aim is to start & finish at Bank. I'll have to forego the football which will be annoying but I wanna this crazy 3 challenge idea!
