Another Z1 challenge...

Post by tc »

Hi everyone,

Some of us are (un)fortunate enough to have school on the date you have proposed for the Z1 challenge and it seems that the date you have proposed is fixed... I thought it would be fun to do a Z1 attempt with people from another forum and Maarten thought it would be a good idea to say on here...
Date: Wednesday 31st May
When: 10AM meet at King's Cross St. Pancras

Right, here is the plan:

All meet at 10am at King's Cross Mainline concourse (near arrivals/deps board) on 31st May, a random station will be picked to start at, from the hat, it will not be any of the following:

* Vauxhall
* Pimlico
* Victoria
* Waterloo
* Queensway
* Bayswater
* Notting Hill Gate

Just to make it nice and confusing.

Visit all the stations in zone 1, and then we shall meet back at King's Cross as soon as everyone has finished.

Timing will start when the train doors close on your first train.
Timing will stop when you touch the platform at your final station (ie, get off as soon as the doors open).

Regarding proving that you have done it;

You can, either:

* Take a logbook and take times down (watches will be syncd at the beginning of the challenge.
* Take photographs at every station of the roundel or a distinctive feature (remember, no flash).

Regarding teams;

* You can form a team on the day or prior to the day, if on the day, then you can join a team, or join up with someone else!
* Only one person is only required to log or photograph at the stations.
If you're interested please let me know!!

Thanks! :)

Ooooh, an unofficial one, I see!

10am's a bit early though, innit?

Either way, The Chris shall not be attending. College, and all.

10am is actually because I can't exactly do it much later without getting bored after coming from London Euston at 07.30 from the sleeper...

Does this mean someone will have to organise a race between the winner of this and the winner of the official event for the undisputed Zone 1 championship of the world?

Well, this could follow on nicely to the "Laps of Soho Challenge". I'll start a new thread.

It is indeed a school holiday, its the Summer Half-Term.

Just to clarify, I am talking about KX Mainline station. Meet at 10am near the departures/arrivals board!

10am means I can't buy an off-peak travelcard though!

Which means I'll have to spend £13.60 instead of £4.80.
