The depths of New challenges has sunk to a new level reminds me I must have a go at a real challenge one that is recognized

Technically, it's quite an old challenge as challenges go (proposed April 2006)!! Still, your point has been noted.

Holds some alternative challenge records. Not sure which ones.

It may be old/new, but it is a good one!

To be awkward - the tube lines (etc.) tend to run through two separate tunnels for each point the lines cross. Should they be done each way?

They run parallel and directly alongside, so one direction only. Similarly, the Golden Jubilee/Hungerford only has to be done once, ditto with only doing one of the two Dartford Tunnels (QEII Bridge is separate though as it's a bridge), one Barnes Bridge and one Putney Rail Bridge.

The Blackwall Tunnel is two separate crossings because the two bores are in different alignments.

Phew, if you did have to do them twice, it would take quite a bit longer!

I did a brief check on the feasibility of this - if you remember to prioritise some of the crossings it's easily doable! But it would take until the early evening though (albeit with a Central London finish) - that's if there is the 5am ceremonial start in Thurrock I mentioned above.

By far the most annoying part of the challenge, in my opinion, is the upping and downing around Richmond!! It's really very badly connected (especially as all the buses are routed to serve the town centre).
