Tottenham Court Road escalator works

Post by jonny »

Does anyone know when these finish?
The website says mid-April.
Im doing the all-stations thing on Friday (21st) and need to make the Central to Northern line connection during these times.
Should I just plan to run to Goodge Street?
Please help me, I'm not exactly gonna break the record and its not going to help me for any future attempts because the escalators will be back up and running by then.
Pleeeeeeeease.

What it means is that there is no direct interchange. You can still access both lines from the station entrance/exit, so just head to the ticket barriers and turn around. It's quite a way, but probably better than running to Goodge Street!

No, you can't get on to the Northern Line AT ALL.

You can only get FROM it to the Central line.

If you're going Central-Northern, then yes.

The other way around, then no.

Oh.

I do apologise for causing the confusion - I assumed that when TFL say "there is no interchange between the Central and Northern lines at this station", they mean exactly that. Otherwise I would have expected the announcements to say "there is no access to the Northern line from this station".

the site says no interchange from central to northern or street level entry to northern, I just didn't take it as literally as it actually is.
