Good point but I said don't answer it as we know that you weren't on the Circle line.
I said I wasn't on the Circle Line when I answered Q.19. I made no such comment about my location when answering Q. 20/21.

Dammit, wasted question!

There were exactly six places he could be and none of them were on/outside the Circle Line. Now we're up to 25 options.

Erm... are you directly adjacent to Green Park?

Have you ever directly doubled back (Station A  Station B  Station A)?

I'm not going to count that as a question because I've already explicitly said that I haven't (and won't do so in future).

Are you at Oxford Circus, then? Count this as the question.

Are you at Oxford Circus?

Yes! (25). Congratulations. Here's the complete route:

Q.1 (Pimlico): Are you in zone 1? Yes
Q.2 (Vauxhall): Are you on, or north of the Central line? No
Q.3 (Stockwell): Are you on the District Line? No
Q.4 (Oval): Are you on, or south of the District Line? Yes
Q.5 (Kennington): Is it possible for your next move to place you at a station served by the Victoria Line? No
Q.6 (Waterloo): Have you ever touched the Bakerloo Line through the course of the game? Yes
Q.7 (Westminster): Have you ever been to Waterloo? Yes
Q.8 (St James's Park): Can you catch a direct normal service to Stockwell? No
Q.9 (Victoria): Could your imminent one-stop move potentially leave you diagramatically above ("north of") the River Thames)? Yes.
Q.10 (Sloane Square): Has your route crossed the river at any point? Yes
Q.11 (South Kensington): Are you south of the river? No
Q.12 (South Kensington): Are you on, or West of, the Northern Line between Waterloo and Edgware? Yes
Q.13 (South Kensington): Are you at an interchange? Yes
Q.14 (South Kensington): Have you ever been to St James's Park? Yes
Q.15 (South Kensington): Are you currently on the Piccadilly Line? Yes
Q.16 (Knightsbridge): Are you at or adjacent to Green Park? No
Q.17 (Knightsbridge): Are you on the Piccadilly Line? Yes
Q.18 (Hyde Park Corner): Are you on the District Line? No
Q.19 (Hyde Park Corner): Are you inside the simple old traditional bottle-on-its-side Circle line? Yes
Q.20 (Green Park): Are you on the Northern Line? No
Q.21 (Green Park): Are you on a sub-surface line? No
Q.22 (Piccadilly Circus): Are you directly adjacent to Green Park? Yes
Q.23 (Piccadilly Circus): Are you at Oxford Circus? No
Q.24 (Oxford Circus): Are you at a station served by the Central Line? Yes
Q.25 (Oxford Circus): Are you at Oxford Circus? Yes

That worked rather better than I expected (after I'd tweaked the rules). If we agree some better rules in advance, do you want to have a go at setting a new one? There's no reason why it can't run in parallel with the conventional game.

OK.

I think the "stop after every other round and never reverse" might be good enough to work on its own. I'd also keep the rule that you can't repeat (which to my understanding is if we've had the sequence A  B, we can't have the sequence A  B again). I think we can drop the "stay in Zone 1" rule - I did not find this rule necessary at any point.

I'd like to informally define reversing as any time the sequence A  B  A comes up. I'd also like to restrict interchanges to the GWR definition (so no Paddington or Hammersmith switches), and also restrict Bank/Monument interchanging.

I'd also set an exception to never reversing, which would be if you were at a dead end. This means, for example, that if you head up the Jubilee Line to Stanmore, you are allowed to turn around and head back the way you came because there's no other way to go from Stanmore.

Can I also rule that the Heathrow loop is one-way? Obviously if I've managed to end up at Heathrow, I'll probably be found before I manage to get back to Acton Town, but hypothetically.

If nobody has any complaints, I'll give it a try with these rules.

I would be interested in doing one as well.
