Northern City line

RobbieM and I travelled the whole of the Northern City line as part of our "(Not) the Victoria Line" challenge, and I was just curious to find out whether there are any challengers here old enough to have completed a challenge when it was still part of the Tube network (known as the Highbury branch of the Northern line, even though it wasn't connected to the Northern line).

Not when it was part of the Tube, but I did go from Finsbury Park to Moorgate when we did the Zone 1 National Rail challenge.

Ditto about the Z1 National Rail (and of course my Not the Victoria Line attempt saw me ride Highbury to Finsbury).
Have you been to Essex Road?

Me and a friend did this in 1981 coming down from Stevenage but I think it may already have been part of the National Rail by then,we didnt know then of the Tube challenge,Aldwych, the East London line,Watford Junction and Ongar were all part of the network then and Ongar is where we gave up after finding a pub.

It stopped being part of the Tube in 1975 (the same year as there was that horrific accident at Moorgate). I never travelled on it when it was a Tube line, but I remember it being routinely included on Tube maps, along with the Waterloo & City line and the North London line. It was known as "Great Northern Electrics".

I have used it on a full network challenge but not when it was a tube line.
