I have ideas to cover that inconvenience.

Just a quick question will we be taking Covent garden out of the starting stations as it will be exit only. So we will not be able to meet outside station as usual.

Obviously we should wait for official BOZO decision, but I see no reason why we cannot meet outside Leicester Square station slightly earlier, take the Piccadilly line to Covent Garden and then continue as if we met outside Covent Garden.

We will not be starting from Covent Garden due to the station being no entry. Should Covent Garden be picked out (all the stations are still in their capsules from last year, untouched) then a re-draw will take place.

This is a Central line train to "Woodford via Hainault"- sadly, not no more!

Where did you see that? There doesn't appear to be anything on the TfL website.

Try this press release:
https://www.tfl.gov.uk/info-for/media/p ... ad-station

And this "Live Travel News":
https://www.tfl.gov.uk/tube-dlr-overgro ... ons-status

I found it while looking at closed track and stations for Random 15 Round 6 and thought "That'll have horrible effects on the Zone 1"! So that's four tube stations messed up on Zone 1 Day (Bond Street, Embankment, Gloucester Road and Covent Garden).

I'd assume official rulings on Gloucester Road are similar to official rulings on Bond Street and Embankment, but best to have a BERC decision.

I wondered whether I could get away with being the only one who knew that. But I knew other people, like you, would discover it closer to the time, and that other forums, as well as Station Master App would publish something as well, so it was better to spill. My special Zone 1 secret was going to be the loss of the Piccadilly Circus spiral staircase, but alas, both hopeful traveller and Station Master App have blurted this out.

This closure is also in the updated "Heathrow by Tube" leaflet, which is where I first heard of Picc. line not stopping at Gloucester Road, though when I was reading it, I thought hang on I swear the station is still open (as the leaflet doesn't give any dates as to when this closure applies)! I later found a poster on the platform detailing the closure and noticed the dates, noting that it fell within zone 1 day.

So on that news, Gloucester Road can only be visited on the subsurface lines (a pass through on the Picc. will not count (the same as to which applies to Embankment).

With 9 days left, my attendance is still unsure. I've got a computing tutorial 4-6 in South Kensington, which I could turn up late for, but I must turn up for. Apart from that, my diary is free.

NOTE: With 2 and a half days left, my attendance remains unsure, due to a tough decision about a university project.

Can all challengers who are attending this please re-read the rules (as shown in post #2) as there have been some amendments since the rules were posted especially with recent issues regarding Gloucester Road and Covent Garden.

As discussed in another thread, to cover the costs incurred by hosting this event there will be a VOLUNTARY £2.00 fare payable to the BOZO.

I would've been surprised had a passthrough on the Piccadilly line counted for Embankment, really.
