Last Train from Shoreditch - UPDATE

Post by moley »

As you all know, Shoreditch is to close in June and I intend to organise a 'last train meet' whereby we aim to make the very last train from Shoreditch one of the most busy services in ages.

Let me know if you are interested and I will organise.

From http://ellp.tfl.gov.uk/ellp.aspx/ell-current-work.shtml
Shoreditch Station Closure – 9th June 2006

The existing Shoreditch Station will close on 9th June 2006. The East London Line Project is working closely with London
Underground to produce a strategy for it’s closure and further details, including alternative routes will be published on this
site very shortly. Please check back for updates.
This may also mark the last use of the southbound platform at Whitechapel as I'm told that it is not adequately signalled for terminating trains.

I'd love to, but I'm not sure if I'd be able to be in London on June 9th. :(

I've never been to Shoreditch either, maybe I'll go when I'm down at Easter time, just so I can say I've been there.

(I voted yes, because even though I probably almost definitely wont be going, I am still interested)

If I don't have an exam on that day, I'll probably be there.

Do you ever NOT have exams?

Everything that's ever organised clashes with an exam.

I propose that we arrange a Tube Challenge exam. Then you can pull out because you have an exam :-)

Late May and early June is my exam season, and this year it's time for my final exams, of which I have six!

I didn't miss Tube Relief because of a test, though. I was on holiday.

A Tube Challenge exam would be quite good, actually. It could consist of theory and practical parts, and passing would earn you a "Tube Challenge Licence".

You would be allowed to pass with no more than 15 minor errors, but one major error (such as attempting to disembark at British Museum in order to run to Holborn) would see you fail immediately and the test be terminated.

On that note, I've just failed my driving test.

That is most unfortunate, Chris. Would you like to publically divulge the cause of your failage?

Having an exam should not cause you issue.

The last train is likely to be after 8pm and I've yet to find a full time student with exams later than that!

Ah, brilliant, of course, it would be. I'm there!

Unless there's an end-of exams party that night as well...
