Some people are planning on catching the Last train TO shoreditch then waving the last train off, sadly helping yourself to a sign would be seen as theft, even though the station would officially be closed and the roundels not much use.

The Plan so far....

Post by moley »

The is of course a problem with catching the last train to Shoreditch - if TfL decide to close it early, the last train will not run. I'm going to catch the train up about an hour before hand.

THE PLAN so far....

We meet at Shoreditch station from 8pm onwards.

We catch the last train from Shoreditch currently planned to be 20:34 and we head down to the line. I will probably do the whole service to New Cross Gate.

We then come back up to 'The Captain Kidd' pub in Wapping (http://www.beerintheevening.com/pubs/s/ ... dd/Wapping) for some light refreshment, discussion and comparing of pictures.

Ah, so that's why you asked me where the good pubs in the area were :-)

Yes - indeed.

I know some people are wanting to take the last service right the way through to New Cross Gate so I though we would choose a pub a few stops down the line to save people havin g to Return to Whitechapel for a beer.

Sounds good, I should be able to come.

What kind of turnout are we expecting?

The East London line isn't designed to carry that many people at once you know!

Anybody interested in doing something else in the day, perhaps a Zone 1 or, to be quirky and different, even a Bottle challenge?

That would involve an early start...

Being a bit of a lightweight, perhaps a Waterlo & City line with drinking challenge would be more suited to me :P.

I made some enquiries about the station signs from Shoreditch, seemingly they are being passed to the LT museum, shame.

shame, I was planning to go down to Shoreditch and take a few photos one night this week, might even find time to fit in a zone 1 challenge as well.
