Will you be competing in this round, Tubeguru?

From what I gather, you are not doing the R15 as you never do because it's pointless.

Then Rhys is questioning whether you think Zone One Day is pointless as you have taken part in that...

On the first point: correct.

On the second point: I did indeed take part in Zone One, but I didn't claim that was pointless.

He was one of the original members, but had to pull out. I'm surprised no-one has guessed the truth already tbh.

tangy wrote: Looking at an actual track diagram I can't see how a train can be turned at Chalk Farm (nearest crossover is Hampstead), similar at Angel. If this does go ahead I am thinking of a Hampstead/East Finchley- Charing X/Moorgate block rather than as literally written. We will wait to nearer the day for confirmation.

Anyway, all stations that can be visited will be in the draw, so should Golders Green be picked (for example) it will still need to be visited in the normal way, despite that section of line being in effect marooned from the rest of the network.
It looks like the closure is due to testing of the new signalling system on this section. Trains will be running all the way through from High Barnet/Edgware to Morden, however they will empty out at Chalk Farm/Highgate, then start picking up again at Euston (CX)/Angel and vice versa.

So the only stations that can't be visited are

Archway
Tufnell Park
Kentish Town
Camden Town
Mornington Crescent
Leyton
Leytonstone

East Finchley/Highgate and Hendon Central - Chalk Farm are all still in the hat, despite being isolated from the remainder of the network.

Looking at Peter's post above and also just spent 20 mins trying to get my head around it on TfL this could be the longest R15 ever and we could be very late at the pub

Talking of which what is the post-challenge meet up point?

There are some DLR closures too. I think we also can't visit:

Tower Gateway
Limehouse
Westferry

This is less hassle than the Northern line closures though.

It's a good job this isn't Zones 1-4, otherwise we might have to visit the Hainault - Woodford section, which is also completely isolated!
