... (with the previous claim for points was 153 bells on 16 Sept at 07:58), that makes the claim for points of 254 bells on 26 Sept at 21:12 invalid, as only a maximum of 109 bells was available (unless I've missed something )

That means that this post will either be a spoiler, or (and I hope so) a correct claim for 366 bells

Between GU's last claim for points and MY claim for points, ten days had elapsed (ignoring the post which is rightly classed as a spoiler). That's 240 hours from 16 Sep 2014 06:58 am to 26 Sep 2014 06:58 am.

Then from 06:58 am to the time of my claim, a further 11 hours elapsed. That's 251 hours, so 251 bells. My claim was for 254 bells, so while it looks like an invalid claim (unless I've got my numbers wrong), you are wrong in saying that 109 bells were available when I claimed.

The spoiler post resets the clock though (although I think I missed that bit out with my calculation) so you would only have been able to claim from Sept 22 at 08:25...

3. Spoilers

Spoilers are posts made to the game thread that do not explicitly specify a claim for points. Spoilers "reset the clock", so if a spoiler was made at 09.00, the clock would be reset from 09.00, and the next available claim would be at 09.05 for a five-point weed.

If a player makes two or more spoiler posts in a row, then only the first spoiler will reset the clock. All consecutive spoilers by that player will be ignored and have no effect on the clock.

GU made a claim and THEN posted a spoiler. In that case, the spoiler is ignored. Hence my claim, had it been for 251 bells instead of for 254, would have been valid.

See rule 5 (Consecutive posts in the game thread by the same player):

"- A claim for points followed by one or more spoilers:

If the points claim is valid, the points are scored. The spoiler(s) will be ignored and the "game clock" will run from time of the points claim."
