My move to Cornwall is delayed by at least one week, so will probably be at Homewood this Saturday.
Oh that's a shame would have joined you if not at Great Salterns

I may have pushed myself little bit too hard on Saturday. My watch said my max heart rate was 202 BPM!

Crazy it must be the cold weather as I spent 20 minutes in maximum (red) heart zone and same course the week before 30 seconds slower was only 3 mins in the max

I've decided it's best not to know mine, as most weeks I get asked if I'm ok when I cross the line!

I finally ran at Walsall Arboretum today, despite it being my "home" event when I first signed up nearly eight years ago. As it isn't that close and I didn't have the time or motivation to make the journey, I never ran it and eventually a properly local one started which got me into it. Anyway, a pleasant three lapper with minimal gradient change.

LOL yeah happens to me a lot as indeed by the token hand out guy on Saturday. After 30 seconds I am generally fine

To be fair that is a measurement of fitness. How quickly your heart rate, and yourself, return to normal.

Kingsbury Water have broken the proverbial glass and started using an alternative course that avoids nearly all the mud, so I went there today. It got me wondering though, would you prefer a one lap course that has a fair amount of paths that are muddy and/or narrow (like KWs normal course), or a two lap course which has much better ground conditions (like the B course)?

For me it's the two lapper. I always like two lappers anyway, and since I'm going for a faster time at the moment then good conditions help

Personally I prefer, Out & Back, One Lap or Two Lap courses, when it starts to get to Three laps or more I struggle!

This week was a lovely two lap course at Roundshaw Downs, although you don't gain much height its enough to get great views towards London when you are up top.

Here is this weeks update: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... sp=sharing

Same - although I did enjoy Great Salterns last week, which is a three lapper.

I like 3 lappers, you know exactly where you are / how far to go on the last lap which you know you are around only a mile from home when starting :)
