A plague on boh your houses, Chris, if my exams fall on that day.
But that won't really be your fault, so don't worry too much.

Well, clearly we'll be back to try to defend our title!
Will there be another trophy up for grabs?
I think it would be quite feasible to collect a small entry fee to cover actual costs incurred (trohpy, sponge cakes, pain killers and other necessities).
See you all on the 19th of May!

Chris - I paid for everything out of my own pocket (because that's the NICE person in me which people all too frequently choose to fail to see) last year.
But why don't you charge each person taking part just ONE POUND (big money!) and that wil cover a trophy (£15) and any other bits - and any spare cash can go into a whip at the end of the day down the bar. Right?

T'is indeed a good idea!
I'll start looking into stuff properly next week, once I've failed my driving test.

Yes, the small "donation" trick works well in these cases.
Hence my asking everyone in the pub last year to contribute a small amount to cover the food. Four or five of us then paid the balance between us.

I liked the 12-1-ish approach of last year. Lazy morning (for us tourists anyway) and just early enough to beat the afternoon peek... I think anything earlier than 11 or so would make it impractical. Quite a few participants surely must travel for a while to get to the gathering point.
I vote for the same overall timing as 2005!
