Okay, as there's been no activity on this page for over a week, I'm gonna bend the rules slightly, and ask a third question in a row. (If this is not acceptable, then you don't have to answer, I just have a particular reason to ask this one.)

During my 'modified' journey on Tuesday (see http://tubeforum.co.uk/forum/index.php? ... c&start=32 - Postlude to "Which train service am I on? #3"), I had cause to travel from Carlisle to Haymarket on the 1500 from Carlisle. This is actually the 1220 from Birmingham New Street to Edinburgh Waverley, and I think it fits all the criteria which have gone before.

So, instead of pressing 'Search', I thought I'd press "I'm Feeling Lucky" this time, so:

Is it the 1220 from Birmingham New Street to Edinburgh Waverley?

All the other criteria fit, bar the time, so it's a no!

Terminates at PRE, what time would you get to EDB for anyway?!

In my book, that one (the 1820) only terminates at Preston on a Saturday - but I guess we're assuming it's a weekday service.

Is it the 1620 from New Street to Waverley?

Right, it's the 1420 New Street to Waverley. If not, I guess someone will have to ask the one remaining possibility in my pocket timetable.

So is it?

Just to confuse things even more, Tangy actually started this thread in November, before the timetable change. I don't know if there was any significant change on this particular route.

The train still runs in this timetable, but isn't the 1420 ex BHM either

Ah yes, I remember this quiz from last year...

Is it a weekend service?

It's not "Where am I?", but "Where is tangy?"

the train in question does run both weekdays and Saturdays, in the same departure time from the origin.

Thanks - someone else has to ask the next question ... who could it be?

Does the train in question leave its departure station before 11:00?
