Not entirely tube related, but still London Transport so I thought i'd comment.

For those who are unaware, on some bus routes now, a timed system (presumably working on the same concept as the 'next bus' display boards) alerts passengers near the doors of an approaching stop with a very gritty-teethed and nauseating female voice saying 'Bus stopping at next bus stop... Please stand well clear of doors'.

Surely they could manage to record a voice that was even slightly friendly and welcoming rather than one that generally pisses people off with the aggressiveness...
