Well (hypothetically speaking) if you did I can see why he might be in a hurry to leave the station!

I suspect the E&C thing didn't make a difference, it was a couple of changes later but we got a great train on the H&C and we'd probably just have ended up waiting for the same train if the board at E&C had been accurate.

We actually went to Oakwood and doubled back to Cockfosters, I thought it would be quicker than the uphill run but another time I'd run the last bit to Oakwood or do it the other way around so we get the nice downhill from Cockfosters. Or get fitter so the uphill bothers me less!

I like the Heathrow start but the NW corner as a finish isn't great. Small losses can turn a lot bigger quite easily. Got a few ideas but I want to take a step back before my next run.

There were quite a few problems elsewhere like suspensions on the line to Richmond. It had resolved by the time we got down there but I suspect the Ealing logjam may have been fallout from it. Just how the tube can go I guess.

Another favourite quote of the day was from the women on the train to Mill Hill East.

"You do know this train only goes to Mill Hill East?"

We all chorused simutainously "Yes, we do!"

Haha yes I loved that :)

I guess to the uninitiated, it would seem odd talking about what we were going to do when we got to High Barnet when we were on a MHE train!

The time I tried it I got off earlier - can't remember the name of the road but it basically cuts off the corner, seem to recall it took 11 or 12 minutes, but getting off at the roundabout sounds a good option. If I recall correctly the bus from the rounabout to Oakwood took over a minute anyway.

Another lesson learnt then - thanks Geoff :)

Me and Andi nearly had a 4 bus combo if the 298 had waited 10 seconds longer :)

We did keep an eye out for the 142 behind us when we were going to Canons Park.

Actually thinking back I think Glen suggested running up the hill to Cockfosters, I think it was nearer than I realised. Wish I'd said yes now. I think the train out of Oakwood was our only really near miss all day, although we had a few successes that went to the wire.

Can't remember where but we nearly knocked over a blind person on a bridge trying to make a quick change somewhere!

I have done that for some changes - for instance at Amersham for the one minute change - not that there's a lot of options but I just wanted to practice that bridge as the first time I went up past the left turn(!), and also changing from the eastbound train after Ken O to the westbound, tried all the different stairways several times and averaged them. I even paced out the turn left or right through the barriers at Gunnersbury and they came out the same to within a couple of paces. I think I dismissed the Cockfosters one after the cut through took so long. Plus it all takes time to do, I'll be getting into more of it as I get more experienced.

It's well worth doing though - for instance my first door position at King's Cross took ages (90 seconds?) so I tried all the exits until I found one that took about twenty or less.

Anywhere else this would look like a crazy obsessed person but I hopepeople on here understand!

Woodford. I saw the blind lady go up the stairs just as a loop train was pulling into the platform as yours got in. I was thinking "Please please please dont run and knock her down as its not the train you want!"

:)
