...to Battersea announced as part of a government plan to improve infrastructure or whatever. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-15914145
Important thing is though, where will the route go, how many stations will it add, and what effect will it have on the Challenge?

See http://northernlineextension.co.uk/ for more details. The Charing Cross branch will be extended from Kennington to two new station at Nine Elms and Battersea.

Proposed opening 2017.

Well assuming it did, the record would be reset, me thinks. Might get the record one day after all!

This is an extension - an addition. Therefore the record won't be reset.

Its when the network gets smaller that the record gets reset. Sorry!

Is that actually official?

I mean, what happened when they extended the Jubilee line from Green Park to Stratford?

Of course it will be reset. Otherwise the record would still be the 15 odd minutes it took to get from Farringdon to Paddington in 1863 :D

He's got a point. You have to change it, even if only one station is added.

The most recent reset by adding stations was the addition of T5

I have no idea why I wrote what I wrote!

This is an extension - an addition. Therefore the record will probably be reset.

Its when the network gets smaller that the record is not normally reset.

I thought you were taking a sarcastic punt at Guiness who are perhaps inconsistent at resetting the record. :D

Does the extension provide any connection opportunities, or is it just an annoying double-back?

Difficult to know at the moment. It'll be a case of go try it when it opens.

Depends where the new station is, innit?

Judging by the current plans the Battersea station will be close to Battersea Dogs Home so would be about 1 mile from Vauxhall.

Don't forget the Nine Elms station maybe closer to Vauxhall. Also Battersea Park and Queenstown road rail stations are in that area as well.
