Thanks for that. Is there any particular reason we need a topic on the forum for this?

This forum is for anything though.... People have lost their lives in one of the worse accidents in years. Things like this put things into reality, life's too short to worry too much about what's put on the forum!

OK, so what is there to discuss about it exactly?
This may be the "Off Topic" forum, but there are limits to what I consider to be tasteful posts. As this story is being discussed on just about every social media outlet on the internet, does a website devoted to tube challenging really need a topic on it?

Hear, hear. It's an accident on a motorway. Next!

Um... I just thought that it would be news for people to see, also, as Sam said, this forum is for anything not related to the tube. There could have been friends or family of those on here who might have been on the road at that time? No offence, but accidents happen every day on our motorways, but I've never seen this sort of accident before with a large number of people involved.
If you're that bothered, delete this topic. Sorry for trying to share a bit of news...

Sam is right that the "Off Topic" forum is for stuff that isn't related to the tube, but by your logic we will require a new topic every time something happens which might involve someone that any forum member might know.

OK, so we're at the stage where you feel all sorry for yourself and make me look like a dictator.
I'm going to leave the thread unlocked, so everyone can post all the exciting stuff they have to say about this essential subject. We'll probably have as many pages as the Tumbleweed thread by the end of the day.
But let me say that the main reason I asked if this was a relevant topic is that the majority of regular forum members on this site are friends on either Facebook or Twitter, and are the kind of people who would have known about this within a couple of hours of it happening. I certainly didn't need this site to tell me about it, and I'm sure not many other people did either.
Is it just me (as usual)?

Because it gives people something to do, and keeps them coming back. If people don't want to play it, I'll get rid of it. But if I got rid of it now, it would annoy people.

The tube forum is my first visit on the window of the world every day so this was certainly news to me earlier on....

Is
this the kind of thing we should be making topics about? Train-related as it is.
