Choosing Where To Post Your New Topic
OK, after a brief discussion about the location of new topics earlier (Hopeful Traveller's Blah Blah), I spent a while moving some of the more recent threads that do not actually discuss "your attempts" from the "Your Challenge Attempts" forum to elsewhere on the forum. I got as far as 2007 and gave up. No one really cares about stuff we argued about four years ago.
So on that note, it would be nice if you could all make sure you're posting your new topics in the correct forum, otherwise I feel obliged to move them around.
The "Your Challenge Attempts" forum is for one of the following:
A write up of a FULL NETWORK CHALLENGE you have partaken in,
A thread containing live updates of a FULL NETWORK CHALLENGE you are partaking in, or one on which you are accompanying the participants,
A link to a website containing a write-up of someone who has completed a FULL NETWORK CHALLENGE.
The Your Challenge Attempts forum is NOT for any of the following:
A write up of an ALTERNATIVE CHALLENGE you have done,
A notice of your intention to partake in a FULL NETWORK CHALLENGE,
A post asking for a ******* stopwatch operator to help you,
ANYTHING ELSE.
It's really that simple. Don't make me kick your ass.
Maybe I should rename the "Your Challenge Attempts" forum to "Your FULL NETWORK CHALLENGE attempts" ...

Renaming sounds like an excellent idea so we don't forget in future.

Yes i think should rename it to "Your full network challenge attempts". <- Note, no need for shouting in thread titles.
Or, as I said before. Four threads would be ideal. One or chat about full network, one for full network attempts. One for chat about alternative challenges, one for attempts of alternative challenges. Makes sense to me ...

Re: Choosing Where To Post Your New Topic
Also, is there any way of demoting the Tube Relief topic down the page so that it's not as promient anymore. Nice to keep, obviously but in an archived area.
Ditto, Andi's attempts special folder .. was relevant when he was going out twice a month, but it appears that that phase is over now and he hasn't even written any thread abuot his last attempt. That could be demoted too in part of a big clean/tidy up.
As always - not telling, just suggesting!
ps. I note Tangy has a 'DLR 39' posting in the 'Full Network Attempts', when surely this should be in 'Alternative...'

Geoff's suggestions sound sensible. "Organised Chaos" could become a sub-forum of "Your Full Network Challenge Attempts", which doesn't really need to be capitalised.

OK, I'll look at this tonight and see if I can do some re-arranging.

Or Chris could just do it without consulting me ...tubeguru wrote:OK, I'll look at this tonight and see if I can do some re-arranging.
