The station is Wimbledon, and the picture was taken by the excellent James Perou. The picture title, Kingsmeadow, refers to the ground in Kingstonian where Wimbledon currently play.

Those rising through the leagues:
nozzacook
Edgemaster
scrxisi
barrykas
tangy
jbom
Starkey7

Those upping sticks, moving to Milton Keynes, changing their name and becoming a soulless franchise of a football club used by tourism majors wanting to buy a Football League club rather than investing in one of the three - three! - local teams and getting them into the league the proper way, teams that eventually folded due to a league club being brought in and taking over the meagre fanbase that they'd worked hard to get, playing at their own grounds rather than having one custom built:
garion24wales (Vauxhall)
Going Underground (Golders Green)
greatkingrat (New Cross)

Great rant! You seem quite bitter, perhaps a (former) fan of one of the folded teams?

Nope, nothing like that, but as a fan of a low-ish league club I know how I'd feel if (say) Manchester United were to move closer to their fanbase in the Medway Towns, the attendence at Gillingham would drop from around 4,500 to a few die-hards and we'd be pushed out. Hence opposing it at all levels of the pyramid :)

Well said! The whole thing should never have been allowed. But hopefully AFC Wimbledon will soon be a Football League team, and I look forward to their first encounter with MK Dons, whatever that is.

I still have more sympathy for Kingstonian FC.
