hi its sara here on the 2nd july 2011 i am doing a 12 hour dart marathon in aid of cancer. Many of u already known that i have suffered from breast cancer and i want to give something back. I am doing it in 4 parts meaning 4 trophys 1 4 highest score, 1 4 lowest score, 1 4 highest check out and 1 4 highest fund raiser. Also we r doing a raffle and hopefully getting martin clunes and harry redknapp involved. I would like to invite people of the forum to attend if they so wish. Please let andi know by the end of march so that i can let the cricketers pub (at the end of our road) know how many people r coming. Also there is going to be a bbq to help raise money. Anyone that needs putting up 4 the night can stay with us 1st come 1st served.
To enter let andi know and to raise money let us know to send u a form as its 4 a local cancer charity. The local cancer charity is called oakhaven hospice which is based in pennington, lymington, in the new forest which is 4 people with end term cancer that r there to die. Please please help many thanks4 your time.

Hi Sara

Sounds great and is a fantastic cause as well....
Can you please put me down for this and probably Ryan will come along as well.
If we can crash at yours again that would be great :D

Thanks and hope you are OK?

A meeting with Oakhaven Hospice is going ahead Friday for flyers, posters, sponsor forms and media support plus tentative discussions about the possibility of getting a few celebrities along

Martin Clunes and Harry Redknapp and Bobby George have been mentioned with the latter being good friends with the pub.

Also on the day their will be a raffle so any donations for Raffle prizes would be greatly received all in aid of the charity (weather permitting their will be a bbq laid on) Trophies for 4 catergories which are as follows

Highest Fundraiser
Highest Score
Lowest Score
Highest Checkout

Surely it's pointless doing a lowest score prize? Anybody can aim three darts at the floor...

I would guess all 3 darts have to score for it to count?

Any idea what the darts format for the 12 hour duration is likely to be and will they be using both of the boards in The Cricketers?

the theory is yes we will try and use both boards and 1001 down to 1 depending on how many people we will split into even teams or close to.

I believe I managed to win it last time with a grand score of 0. I think the marker was that it wasn't an intentional 0, nor was it near the last throws of the game (I think it was the second or third go...). Proper rules (stop groaning please) may need to be written to define how a 'lowest score' can be given...

Can I tentatively book a place, as well as book into Hotel James please? It should be okay, but need to book the day off work...

Forgive me for pointing this out, but surely throwing three single ones is going to be the lowest score with three scoring darts?

Even I can throw three single ones ...

That's true, but it still takes a bit more skill than throwing all three at the floor!

technically 0 or 1 would be right for the lowest score if you throw ur darts into the floor u will be disqualified.

I will once again mention my 0 at the previous Bournemouth Darts Event :) (still got one or two of the twix's from that actually...)
