RA stands for Route Availbility which is a measure of a rail vehicles axle load upon the track. The higher the axle load, the higher the vehicles RA on a scale from 1 to 10 (1 being very light to 10 being very heavy). Every Network Rail route has its own RA number in addition to railway vehicles and generally speaking (there are exceptions) no vehicle with a higher RA number than the route RA may travel on the route without special authorisation.

The Oban branch has a route RA of 5, thus only vehicles whose vehicle RA is 5 or under may travel along it, i.e. all passenger vehicles and locos such as the class 37, 55 or IC125. Heavier locos like the class 66 (which are vehicle RA7) are barred from this route as thier vehicle RA is higher than the route RA.

Hope I have explained things in a simple manner.

To be fair, I was rather lazy on question one. Without thinking I just whipped out the Quail map and used that. I didn't even stop to think about platform 12.

And yes, we need Railbenders V (and the overall scores please).

I was surprisingly close on question 0, despite me reading the question as the volume of timetables, not different routes.

Can I claim half a point for question "0", as although I said "I'll say 28", I did also mention 24 ... ? Go on .... go on ....

The current results table (in descending order):

1. Tubeguru: (33 points) [4 rounds entered]
2. greatkingrat: (30) [4]
3. scrxisi: (26) [3]
4. barrykas: (25) [3]
5. Sam: (24) [3] amended combined total
6. jamesthegill: (10) [3]
7. uefacup81: (8) [2]
=. rhubarbrhubarb: (8) [1]
9. starkey: (6) [3]
10. Andi: (0) [1]

It is getting to be quite close between 3rd, 4th and 5th with a big gap down to 6th!

That might be because 6th isn't taking it seriously...

If 6th isn't taking it seriously and 7th onwards are, then what does that tell us?

That tells us that 6>7.

It wasn't a maths exam question, but can you now explain what you mean by "6>7" apart from "six is greater than seven".

Or is that what you meant?
