If anyone is in London next weekend and wants to go to a great tour of Wapping and Rotherhithe's tunnels I'd really reccommend this. It's part of the London Open House series this time and is free I think although you're asked to make a voluntary contribution to the museum's upkeep and you will need a travelcard that is valid in zone 2

Me, Neil and some others went in June and it was really funny and also educational.

Check out my blog for further details. :D :D

I want to go up the Gherkin, but it doesn't appear to be open this year. In fact, I don't think there are many buildings offering views open at all. :(

Am I wrong?

Picking a few at random, the Ground Floor and 11th Floor Gallery at Lloyd's of London will be open from 10am 'til 5pm (Last Admission 4pm) on Saturday and the Wellington Arch (Hyde Park Corner) from 10am 'til 5pm (Last Admission 4:30pm) on Sunday.

And that seems to be about it in terms of anything with a view...

Cheers,

Barry

Thanks, Barry. The Thames Barrier opens on October 16 though, so that will be a spectacle. Probably won't be able to see it actually opening, as that happens early in the morning. It closes at half past 4 (p.m.) or before, though, I think.
