Lying poll - yes or no?

Post by tubeguru »

OK, since some people have expressed their opinion in opposition to the "lying" rule, I've created this quick poll so we can come to a decision on it. You could be ironic and vote for the opposite option to the one you believe in but then you would lose the game (or something).

I've enabled the option that allows people to change their vote if they wish, but you only get one vote each, and the choices are simple.

Voting will remain open until the end of the current quiz (#9).

I'm under the impression that more people would take part if lying was removed, and the vote so far seems to reflect that.

Yep, it's difficult enough without lying thankyouverymuch.

Well it looks like it's going for round #10. Or whatever number it is.

I think most of the past quizzes were easily solved within the 20 questions prior to the initial introduction of the 1 lie allowed rule.
Therefore if the lie is removed perhaps the number of questions / guesses should be reduced from 20?

In my opinion it's a lovely little twist, and a surprisingly effective twist at making things a lot harder. It certainly gives the number twenty more sense. After all, the quiz seems to be more fun if it had a near fifty-percent success rate, and without the lie allowance it seems rather too easy.

That is true, although allowing the Oyster map with all the National Rail stations does make me wonder if we shouldn't add a couple more questions.

I don't see why we can't have both lying and non-lying games as long as the person setting it is clear which rules they are using.

Despite voting "no" I now agree with you.

That might be an idea - two running concurrently?

Mind you, that will only confuse things further, so as the vote is 10-8 against lying, lying is GONE.

For the record, I voted no because I sense more people will play without it.
