UPDATE 14:30

Following his rant a few months ago Andi now likes Uxbridge, they just got in and out in 10 seconds thanks to a cross platform...

Update: Approx 14:53

Was talking to Andi on the phone. They were heading towards North Ealing. They are successfully ticking off their runs with only two left.

Sorry for the delay with that one.

Update 17:10
The team lost some time going in and out of Richmond so are currently about 15 minutes down. Currently they are at Golders Green (two and sixpence at the ready) heading up to Edgware. And a shock announcement from Andi, he admitted to being naughty and holding the doors for 10 seconds at Ken Oly

Ok, "15 minutes down"? Compared to what plan? "On for a fast time"?

Sounds like a 17:20-17:40 time, or what do you guys think?

Looks like third place on the list for the 270 configuration. Congratulations to the team.

The Flying Finn is back home and will report later surfice to say this would have been the 2nd fastest if only we had just made t4 at Hammersmith missed by about 5 seconds. But for 4 rookies to now have fastest 270 time that is quite some achievement.

Well done guys!

So, what went wrong (apart from a "slow District train")?

Correction, this is the fastest time ever for the 270, the current times shown for 1st & 2nd place are prior to the opening of Wood Lane so therefore only 269 configuration.

Will write more later as rolled back into Sheffield at 03:30 this morning and currently at work, but quick summary follows:

Dodgy electrics at Watford and a missed train at West Harrow put us about 5 mins behind but quickly made that up. Had to miss Kennington out early on as good MHE train available (though picked this up much much later without affecting overall time).

Though 3-4 of us were just not quick enough getting across to Cockfosters by some minutes (not helped by late bus), the stragglers (this includes me) were reunited at Finsbury Park without actually getting behind on overall time (we just couldn't get ahead of time here).

Major downers were:
1) Appalling wait at Turnham Green for Richmond train--even when we were on it it was going very slowly. Gave me time to think of many new offensive variations of the word "District"!
2) Just missing Pic connection after running between the two Hammersmiths. Even Andi couldn't peg it any faster!

Major coups were:

1) A record cross-platform at Uxbridge.
2) Inspired on-the-hoof strategising around the Aldgates/Fenchurch which bought time.
3) Making the Ken O connection on foot faster that the bus!

However, despite about a dozen sanity-defying split-second connections made in a row on the latter half of the attempt, we could never recover the time and ultimately ended up two trains behind the one that would have carried us to the new GWR time.

Still, dead chuffed! :)
