To celebrate the start of the summer holidays next week, I thought I'd post my first and last photo quiz for you all to have a go at as a special bonus round. Also, because this is the summer holidays, this quiz will be coming to you from foreign climes...

This quiz has now closed. Thanks to all those who entered.

The correct answer was Duomo, a station on the Milan (Italy) metro.

Those who somehow got the right answer were:

mps247
Edgemaster
jbom1
uefacup81

The only wrong answer was from Starkey7.

Have a good summer holiday everyone!

Now, should I add this into the round 8 spreadsheet as a bonus?

I went through several cities looking for the red line interchanging with the 3, got there after a few misses... Almost gave up on it.

I think "Linea 3" means "Line 3" in Spanish and Italian. Going through the list of the world's Metro systems, almost everything in the relevant countries appears to be overhead electrified. However, Line 1 (only) of the Milan Metro uses the fourth rail system, as seen in the photograph. Conveniently, it has only a single interchange with "LInea 3", which is at Duomo. Hence my answer.

You can also just about make out the colour of the horizontal, red stripe in the background implying that it is a Linea Rossa (red line) platform.

I did research the Milan metro system but did not put enough effort into working out the correct station!

Perhaps as a tie-breaker for first place should such a situation arise at the end of round 8... I don't know how others would feel about that.

It'd still be tied between you and jbom1, if you both get the rest of the round's answers correct.
