Challenge on TV

Post by Norm »

If you haven't seen it:

00.00 - 00.30 and 08.00 - 08.30 : 12th August : Sky Travel
A train enthusiast attempts to break the world record time for travelling the entire network and the pressure is on. Will there be any delays or closed stations? Probably.

"The Tube" is on twice a day on Sky Travel during the week at the moment - though from the synopses most of the episodes look a bit dull apart from this one :) (not seen them myself though)

Yeah, they're still repeating it to death.

Some things to consider: (In my defence)

i. I have since thrown away the dreadful 3/4 length pants I was wearing.

ii. My haircut was really bad that day. Note to self: Shorter hair is better

iii. The other guy is NOT Neil, it's my mate Dave! And no, he doesn't say much in real life either, he's very camera shy, whereas I'm a media whore.

Ten and a bit minutes .. pah!

I've still not seen it, as I don't have Sky Travel.

Geoff, master of technicalities, can this be rectified?

Geoff is an inspiration. seeing the world record attempt on the tube is how my son and I got into the tubechallenge website and found out about zone 1 challenge, alphabet challenge and others.... :)
So Geoff a couple of things; when exactly was the date of the failed attempt featured on the tube and you said never again :!:
Did you break the world record on your next attempt or were there other attempts in between :?: Dates / details would be interesting

This has been on a lot over the summer!!

amongst the other delights of the two series were:

- woman learning to drive a train whilst another one drives through a red signal.
- person learning to be a station assistant.
- strike
- heatwave
- driver retires after 40 odd years on the Met
- Tox
- bomb scare at Cockfosters
- lots on fare dodgers getting caught
- vandalism on the district line

plus the London under attack programmes

Interesting programmes, just shown a bit too often, but that's the case with everything on the Sky Travel channels!

Yes it is very interesting...other episodes I recall...

- Train driver involved in "one under" incident in a right old state
- Staff having to continually move buskers / beggars on
- working on the line at night when trains not running

and many more I am sure.....

I almost wish I had this channel so I could indulge in such dilemnas the LU faces daily.
