I suspect the 265 bit is a misprint. But if you read the article more carefully, Andi, you'll see he's actually a 19 year old Cambridge Uni student. He was 12 when he planned a route for a set of sixth formers at his school.

Anyway, if he's as much of a genius as the article implies and the commentors say, he might be challenging for the record next time now he's had some expreience. Lesson 1 I'm sure was Upminster to Amersham will never be very fast.
