Vancouver 2010
Just looking on wikipedia found out that Vancouver is hosting the XXI Olympic Winter Games, now if we don't all want to hop over to Canada to go and do the Vancouver SkyTrain for the Winter Olympics I'm sure we can persuade London to host it again?
So Tube Olympics can be an event every 2 years??

Re: Vancouver 2010
Events would have to be different for 2010 as it's a winter olympic year. Any suggestions on what the events might be?
One day I shall return!

Re: Vancouver 2010
Not a bad idea Steven. This way we could change the events around a bit and then we'd basically be able to have all the alternative challenges as olympic events over the 2 games. Seems both silly to wait and optimistic to hope that we'll all be around in 4 years time for the next 'summer' olympics. I think it seems to have been a quite successful event this year so far and if people are up for it we should do it!
some suggestions...south london, alphabet, parks, streets and alleyways. maybe even we make the football grounds one competitive in some way?

Re: Vancouver 2010
I'm all for this in principle
I really like Vancouver when I was there last summer.
Be aware, that there aren't a lot of options to change routes on the sky train, as the lines go in rather different directions.
Also, be aware, the Canada Line (Current lines are Expo and Millenium) will be opening in 2009 which will go down to the airport and Richmond (ie. a completley different direction to the rest of the system)

I'd have thought that the Alphabet and the London Boroughs are the most interesting non-"Olympic" challenges.

I propose a full network challenge on skis.

Well no one seemed to like my idea of a 'paralympic' 3-legged challenge when i suggested itRoot wrote:I prose a full network challenge on skis.

Re: Vancouver 2010
Wouldn't one-legged challenging be more appropriate?

Re: Vancouver 2010
The Park challenge would be a must as this is always held in the Winter.... I would suggest that with this teams nominate the starting "park" station and this is drawn out and announced in advance..
I think most of the other challenges are also probably too long to do in an evening so would have to be during a weekday or Saturday.... I like the idea of alphabet, points of compass, streets/roads/lanes etc........
