The 51 no longer operates between Staines and Slough. Route 51 is Brooklands Tesco- Staines only.
For slough need to change at Staines for First Berkshire route 71.

scrxisi: London Buses route 51 runs from Orpington to Woolwich.
tangy: I shall make a complaint to Thorpe Park. I ask them how to get there and they tell me to go to Slough and take the 51. Shocking.

Does that mean that, on this epic journey, we're not where we think we are?

It seems we've come to a juddering halt in Staines (last two posts are now invalid!). After a journey that would make our marathon runners and long-distance swimmers balk (walking from Copenhagen to Vladivostok and then swimming to Dublin - really?), we're now lost! Tangy has put us back on track though (not literally as we've just got off a bus).

Right then. Walk to Staines High St. Seems like we need a new map, so we'll get one from the WHSmith there...

Head back to the station, where you catch SWT to Feltham.

Route 490 to Heathrow T4

Piccadilly Line to Holborn, where you hide with your torch until the station closes...

Locked in, you walk down a stationary escalator (unnoticed), and end up on the Central Line (Westbound) platform for the night..
