The A1050 no longer exists. It started on the A1 (now A167) at Farewell Hall, to the south of Durham. It then ran north along South Road and Church Street, ending on the then-A177 at the southern end of New Elvet.

(The number was made redundant in the 1980s when many roads in Durham City were renumbered. The South Road section is now part of a rerouted A177, Church Street is now unclassified.)

Well, if you want to increase it to make the 22nd C.P.N., you have to start somewhere. So the first dot of the 22nd layer will be dot number 1052.

And the second dot will be... (no, not going there!)
