Here's a video called
Moving 1047 Miles Away From My Best Friend. I may just have given it the most publicity it's ever had.

The A1048 is a road in north Hartlepool, and is only about half a mile long.

Which, interestingly enough, runs straight into the
A1049. Why do they have two different numbers?

The A1050 no longer exists. It started on the A1 (now A167) at Farewell Hall, to the south of Durham. It then ran north along South Road and Church Street, ending on the then-A177 at the southern end of New Elvet.
(The number was made redundant in the 1980s when many roads in Durham City were renumbered. The South Road section is now part of a rerouted A177, Church Street is now unclassified.)

You know I can't get enough of these: the 21st
centred pentagonal number. That's right, put one dot in the middle, surround it with 20 layers in the shape of a pentagon, and you've got 1051 dots. I promise I counted them all myself

Well, if you want to increase it to make the 22nd C.P.N., you have to start somewhere. So the first dot of the 22nd layer will be dot number
1052.

And the second dot will be... (no, not going there!)
RobbieM mentioned medium-wave radio stations recently, and one of our best-known ones is
TalkSPORT on 1053 kHz (and various other frequencies). This was one of the old Radio 1 frequencies but the Government decided to give it to a commercial station called Talk Radio UK, which was converted into a sports station after a couple of years. I may be one of the few people who remember listening to the original with its "shock jocks", including (bizarrely) Dr David Starkey.

A rich seam of material for this particular hundred is the
ten codes used by various US law enforcement agencies. 10-55 means "suspected DUI" (i.e. driving under the influence).

Would you pay £310 for a pair of sunglasses? The
1057 Honey Tort range from Cutler and Gross was "inspired by 1960s French policemen", with a frame that "boasts straight masculine temples that contour the face and anti-reflective Carl Zeiss lenses". Sadly, they're currently out of stock.
