Re: Our Chosen Football Teams......
I was thinking of setting up a table based on everyone's team. The only problem is, some people "support" more than one team, so do I put ALL teams in, or just the "main" team for each person?

Re: Our Chosen Football Teams......
Bugger it, I'll go through this thread and put ALL teams in (except foreign ones). Give me a minute (or several).

Re: Our Chosen Football Teams......
OK, I have a list. Here it is:
Manchester United
Cardiff City
Watford
Morecambe
Yeovil
Newcastle Utd
Blackburn
East Stirlingshire
Arsenal
Oxford United
QPR
Gillingham
Dagenham & Redbridge
Liverpool
Fulham
West Ham
Reading
Exeter City
Celtic
Norwich City
Millwall
Chelsea
Brentford
Portsmouth
Brighton & Hove Albion
Ipswich Town
MK Dons
Plymouth Argyle
Wolves
Huddersfield
I have disregarded non-league teams, and I may have to check a couple of these to see if they're non-league or not (Morecambe, Blackburn?)
Now, if I put them all in the same "league", it will be somewhat skewed at the end of the season, as some will have played more games than others, but whatever. I'll set it up and see how it goes throughout the year.

I think this is a good idea - both the other Other James' weekly updates, and the table.

The table is taking shape. Of course, it won't be complete right now, as not everyone has played a game yet.
I'll probably update it every Monday or something.

I guess you could rank the clubs by 'points per game', which would create an even way of doing it.tubeguru wrote:Now, if I put them all in the same "league", it will be somewhat skewed at the end of the season, as some will have played more games than others, but whatever. But if two teams win 20 games, and one does it from 38 games and one does it from 40 games, then is that still going to be fair?uefacup81 wrote:I guess you could rank the clubs by 'points per game', which would create an even way of doing it.tubeguru wrote:Now, if I put them all in the same "league", it will be somewhat skewed at the end of the season, as some will have played more games than others, but whatever. Arguably, yes. If Team A score 60pts from 38 games, and Team B score 60pts from 40 games (assuming no draws), then Team B will have lost two more matches than Team A.tubeguru wrote:But if two teams win 20 games, and one does it from 38 games and one does it from 40 games, then is that still going to be fair?uefacup81 wrote:I guess you could rank the clubs by 'points per game', which would create an even way of doing it.tubeguru wrote:Now, if I put them all in the same "league", it will be somewhat skewed at the end of the season, as some will have played more games than others, but whatever. Re: Our Chosen Football Teams......
Well, it certainly appeals to me, despite the slight drawback. I'll just add a quick points-per-game column. Hang on.

OK, Pointer-per-game column is in. Obviously, Man United and Chelsea have to play a game to stop the division-by-zero error.

Re: Our Chosen Football Teams......
So, the question is - do I sort it in the traditional way, or do we go for points-per-game? I'm more minded to go with the PPG system, as it is fairer over the course of a season.
