No, I didn't lie. I am at Arsenal. Now I've got a feeling I'm going to be shredded for answering a question wrongly. Mind you, a few of the questions were bafflingly complex(or stupid)! The Game question, I think, wanted to know if any letters of "The Game" were in the name of the station, which they were. Please be gentle with me.

I see how you've interpreted it and that's quite correct. So far as I can tell you didn't lie to any question.

I don't think I lied to any question. Mainly because I don't agree with the rule. I would have thought (like I spy), that if no-one gets it right, I would get another go! However, I bow to your superiority as a moderator, and because you begged, and because I don't want to be stuck at any station for another 1.5 years+! Away you go Neil, with Where am I? Quiz 9.

Could you give an example of this?

I did think of a situation earlier in this quiz but I've forgotten it. I may have to go back over it to see if I had my brain in gear ...

OK, I think this is mainly only a problem if the hider forgets their previous answers.

Station: Oxford Circus

Q1 - are you in zone 1? (YES - truthful answer)
.
.
.
Q9 are you in an even-numbered zone? (YES - lie)

At this point the quiz is a nonsense because Oxford Circus is not in an even-numbered zone. If the hider does not realise his mistake at this point then the quiz SHOULD end in no one getting it right.

You may ask why someone would ask question #9 if question #1 had already been answered "yes". This may be because the subsequent seven questions have not made it obvious that you're in Zone 1, leading the person who asked question #9 to think you LIED to question #1. He may think "I don't think he's in zone 1 so answer #1 was a lie".

Hopefully I haven't confused anyone with that explanation.

Actually, if you ask two disjoint questions, such as

"Are you in an even-numbered zone?"
"Are you in an odd-numbered zone?"

and the hider lies on one of them, then he has shot himself in the foot, because it's become obvious to everyone that he's lied on one of those two questions and none of the others. So it's not made the quiz impossible; instead it's just made it far easier. It's removed the lie aspect.

Which is why one must think about when to lie.
