One of the more bizarre claims I've come across in my quest for interesting number facts is that "frequent use of 741 Hz leads to a healthier, simpler life, and also to changes in diet towards foods which are not poisoned by various kinds of toxins". This comes from the so-called theory of solfeggio frequencies, which are supposedly an ancient musical scale with all sorts of mystical properties. It appears to have been invented by Leonard Horowitz and Joseph Puleo in 1999 with no supporting evidence whatsoever.

Wow. I never knew that about 741. I do know that 742 used to be the last three digits of Sheffield's STD code...

(Sorry to spoil whoever was waiting for 747).
