So you're talking about just happening to visit all stations accidentally?

According to the Wikipedia page, Bob Robisons stats should read:
51 attempts
46 completions
8 records
Should you include that in your stats or are we just focusing on attempts in the 2000's?

Including attempts made by people who are not currently active on this forum (or have never been active) would be opening a real can of worms, but for statistical analysis, they should probably be included.

Another thing to think about is this: if ten people do the challenge together, is that ten attempts or one?

Say there is an Easter Egg hunt, or something like that, and you end up going through all the stations in GWR style. Then I didn't try to do it but i might have succeeded.

I think that having a "success index" at all is a bit strange, but what do I know...

Easter Egg hunt?! I think maybe this table should be just for deliberate attempts on the whole system.

The Success Index is just an at-a-glance way of seeing how (lucky / skilful) a Tube Challenger is.

If ten people attempt it together, then it would count as one attempt each, per challenger, making 10 attempts for 10 challengers. I think this way, if one challenger pulls out and lets their teammate continue, it shows up in the stats, if they tell us about it!

Edit: Table updated. Still don't know how to get the challenger's name to appear in the far right column.

Some of our attempts have started with the whole team but through various events people have dropped out. The best example of the was GWR V which was entitled "Trouble at Mill (Hill East)".
In this attempt Ping Pon pulled out at midday due to a knee problem & Kevin had to retire later in the evening having missed a connection at Baker Street. Jamie & Myself pushed on as far as Mill Hill East and eventually gave up because we realised that it was going to be impossible to break the record or to set a new PB. Had we continued it was probably 50/50 if this attempt would have a completition.

The statistics for Bob Robinson quoted in Wikipedia were sourced directly from

http://www.tubeforum.co.uk/history_1981_2000.html

and I think (having looked briefly) this is in agreement with

http://www.*****.co.uk/tubechallenge/others.shtml

I'm not sure where those numbers originally came from.

Thank'ee.

Updated table again. http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u168 ... eStats.gif

Nozza, you might be lucky next time, as the average attempts per record is 5.45. If, that is, your route is any good!

Added corresponding challengers to the stats. However, it only returns the first challenger with that statistic in the list, so more Excel tweaking is necessary.

Would it be possible to harvest some more data for this, through an admin emailing or PMing all members?

All I need is each member's total attempts, completions and records. That means YOURS, too, reader! If you don't want your user name to appear on the table, tell me, or use a pseudonym, and I'll allocate you a serial number to appear in place of it.

Well, if you're really set on collecting the triple-ducks (0 attempts, 0 completions, 0 records...) then chalk another one up for me...

Hello all,

As with my fellow challenger Perry Vale - 1 attempt, no completions, no records.

We have unfinished business so I'm sure another attempt is in the offing!

Cheers. Yes, I'm collecting ALL the data, and I think the reluctance of non-attemptors or attemptors-but-non-finishers to give me their numbers is skewing the stats towards a higher success rate than is realistic!

Edit:

Updated table. http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u168 ... eStats.gif

Now who thinks the Success Index formula needs changing?
