Difficult call. The spelling in Dutch (spoken in that part of Belgium) is undoubtedly "Gent", but the conventional English spelling is "Ghent". I think that because we're playing this game in English we ought to use the anglicized versions of names, e.g. "Rome" rather than "Roma" or "Munich" rather than "München".

This doesn't follow on from "Gent". Being charitable, I'll assume that you decided that "Gent" ought to be disallowed and followed up "Ersingen" instead, but it looks as though you're still having difficulty with the rules. I'll send you a PM.

Probably the best thing to do under the circumstances is to ignore both the last two entries and go back to...

OK, fair enough. (Actually your entry would have worked whether Gent had been disallowed or not!)

I wanted to post that because it's the town where I was born, but it's not valid. The rules in the first post include:

Assuming my interpretation is correct let's follow Waterloo with:

Oops! Didn't spot that one. I think that's the second time I've done it in this thread.

Sevenoaks. Also in Kent, and (in)famous as the home of ... Seven Oaks ... (new ones since the 1987 storm).
