I have compiled the data into a statistics table. It is here:

http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u168 ... eStats.gif

Please, EVERYONE, post your stats or PM them, even if you're ashamed of them (don't be!). All I need is to know how many attempts you've made, how many were full completions and how many of those got you a Guinness World Record, confirmed or pending.
The more stats we have, the more meaningful they are.

The current table includes both pending and confirmed GWRs.

The Success Index is calculated thus: [(GWRs * 3) + (completions)] / attempts.
I gave the GWR number a factor of 3 to reflect its importance in determining how succesful a challenger is. Maybe a factor of 5 should be used... what do you all think?

Also, could someone with greater Excel (or OOo Calc) experience than me please explain how to get the relevant challenger's name to automatically appear in the far right column?

So if you do go for an attempt, it looks as if you've got a slightly better than 1 in 3 chance of completion. However if you do complete, it's almost a 1 in 2 chance of it being a record!
Or am i reading this wrong?
I had imagined that the completion rate would be about 1 in 4 or 1 in 5.

What if i never "try" to do the challenge, but complete it somehow.

Would that count as an attempt even though i didn't attempt it, or would i get an infinite success rate?

Ping Pon has the best Success Index, which is quite a debatable statistic, because different people have different ideas of the weighting of the importance of completions versus Guinness World Records. However he also has the best Records Per Attempt (or "RPA").

Yes though, despite "only" having attempted the Challenge 4 times, as opposed to an obsessive 7, Ping Pon has enviable stats indeed.
