Sound Round sounds like a Quadrophenia outtake.standclearofthedoors wrote:Nutteronabus wrote:Best single: Wire & Glass - The Who. 'Nuff said. It's got about 2 good minutes (We Got A Hit) and the rest sounds like rubbish Country & Western. No Thanks.
Pick up the Peace is catchy.
Endless Wire through to Mirror Door are all teriffic.
The fact I despise Muse has clearly touched a nerve...!

Not really- I was being objective, and I see why some people don't like Muse- ripping off Radiohead for example.Nutteronabus wrote:The fact I despise Muse has clearly touched a nerve...!

Knights Of Cydonia v Chasing Cars
BSATCB v Wire & Glass

I don't agree on the comments about the albums I think there are some excellent tracks both musically and lyrically. Production is all part and parcel of the final cut for an album.....Nutteronabus wrote:I mean 'overproduced.'
i.e. that their albums are mostly 'production' than music of any real value, which is virtually impossibl replicate live without cheating significantly.
I do however take you point about the "live" sound..... Although no doubt they put on a "blinding" gig there is no question that what you are hearing is not just the sounds of a guitar, base and drum kit.......
I would call them polished rather than the "raw" sound you would expect from a 3 piece or 2 piece.... For example The White Stripes.. where what you get is what you see is what you hear.....pretty raw and good sound for just a 2 piece........

well personally i don't see anything wrong with singing through effects units, it's not really that much different to sticking your guitar through an effects pedal, cos it's still recreating something live. if he were miming it on the other hand...
