walking, the student way of saving £1.50 on the bus or more on the tube when you need the pennies for later on. yes the oyster card is cheaper, but rarely do I have enough to top up with say a fiver and the last time I topped up with less I was called "the last of the big spenders"

Hmm. Last time i topped up my Oyster, I asked for twenty pounds, which was met with the response "Twenty pence, you say? Or pounds?" So evidently amounts under a fiver are perfectly reasonable.

reasonable? maybe. pointless when you walk almost everywhere within zones 1 and 2? just a little. why take the bus when you can walk?

Well assuming that I can't have young ladies working the poles

Then I would like to see some extensive air con, particularly within Z1..
We did a Z1 during the summer heatwave when it was over 30 degrees outside, I dread to think what the temperature was underground
I believe that most of the actual rolling stock produced from now on will have air con anyway......

Also a buffet / toilet carriage on each train would be nice

Of course any waste disposal system would have to somehow be self contained and emptied at the end of the line, otherwise there will be a very unpleasant smell lingering underground

No, only the sub-surface as the deep level tunnels can't handle the hot air exhaust requirements.

I would increase capacity by having a standing-room only carriage on most trains, by taking out the seats in one carriage.

This would mean that not only is there more space to carry bulky stuff off peak, but when the train is packed in rush hour, the space will be better used, rather than having the few who got on at the first two stops sitting, and everyone else sardined in the middle/end of the carriage.

The drawback would be that the limit of how many people could fill the available seats would go down by 1/7, (or 1/[however many carriages there are] ) But I often see people standing when there are a few seats left, so I don't think it would be a big deal.

If Carlsberg did Tube Challenges...

Pole dancers on every train.
A bar on every station, serving free beer.
No interchange more the 2 minutes (including H&C and Circle Line).
No leaves on the line.
No Shoreditch.

oh bliss :)

An outer circle line, but not at all the one suggested in the first post... Rather a continious train running from Clapham Junction to Denmark Hill, Canada Water, Dalston. West Hampstead, Willesden Junction, Kensington (Olympia) and back. I think we will get this in the end, it just takes a while.

I'd like the Northern line to be simply split into two seperate ones. A simplification of services could make it a lot more reliable and everything a lot less confusing for so many people.

Personally, the West London tram would affect my area, and I would like to see it carried out as a tube line, if at all possible. Since they're already talking about extending it onto Oxford St. and passenger numbers being very high, go even further and go north-eastwards to Hackney.

I also agree with all the missing interchanges.

I'd rather an orbital around Zone 4- that would be more useful & cut out more journeys. While, say a High Barnet- Kennington & Edgware- Morder service would seem simpler, surely the congestion at Camden Town, Euston & Kennington would be extreme.

Oyster PrePay on NR will suit me fine. And the Victoria line being extended to Enfield. And First Capital Collect (Sic) getting on with linking the Hertford Loop with the Wimbledon Loop, or making a Peterborough- Brighton service, or whatever it is they intend to do with it...

Bumping to add, I'd like all the carriages not to be partioned. So essentially each train would be one long carriage. They have that on the newer metro trains in Rome and they're actually really good, spacious and handy if your exit is further down the platform but the train was about to depart.

If that's the case then either Covent Garden or Leicester Square should be looking a bit worried. I reckon they should close Covent Garden station, and let Jamie Oliver take obese people up and down the stairs there to give them a wake-up call on healthy living and eating :P

And Rotherhithe and Canada Water, although Rotherhithe was under threat a while ago.
