40 minutes on the tube is the equivalent of smoking 2 cigarettes!
1. Fact maybe, but disappointingly so. The superior bar is Fruit & Nut - this is an empirical fact.
2. I've heard this one in many forms, with differing quantities of both minutes and cigarettes, and I won't believe it as it seems an irrelevant comparison given the COMPLETELY different constituents of each type of smoke/dust. One of them, you're breathing in smoke from smouldering tobacco, and the other, you're breathing in the dust (not smoke) of a railway system.
Tube dust, as claimed in a report commissioned by LU (make of that what you will ... ) , is supposed to be safe, and is comprised mainly of silica and iron from worn components such as train brakes. Factor in the human dead skin dust (like household dust) and the resulting mixture wouldn't be anything like a cigarette!

Um... yes. That's why nobody's claiming that High Barnet (or New Cross Gate) is one of the stations that can reach any other within one change.
However, Baker Street can reach either of those within one change.

How about Baker Street? Change at High Street Kensington.

Hmm. This is very strange. Last time we had a thread about it I swear we weren't able to come up with one station.

Yes, ignore me.
I appear to have misread the original post in a (semi) drunken haze.

L.U. trivia.....
Well there was a bar on the westbound platform at Sloane Square (The hole in the wall)..... As far as I am aware this was unique to the network as being the only one that could be accessed without having to leave the station platform. Unfortunately this closed in 1985

Morden used to have a petrol station opposite the entrance that was run by LU.

Sorry for ignoring you and then just repeating exactly what you said - my skim-reading obviously isn't up to scratch!
If anyone can name a station that can't be reached from Baker Street with only one change or less, I'll eat a hat. (Not my hat - I don't own one)

Chigwell?

Woodford via Hainault.

How about Heathrow Terminal 4?

Chigwell is easy. Baker Street to Mile End via Hammersmith & City and then wait for a Woodford via Hainault train.
Woodford via Hainault - err, do the same. The route you take is irrelevant. Just get an Epping train to Woodford.
Why is everyone convinced these are impossible stations to get to? Stop looking for service patterns that only run at certain times. The point is that SO LONG AS YOU WAIT FOR THE SERVICE TO ARRIVE, OR YOU DO IT WHEN THE SERVICE IS RUNNING, you CAN reach any station in ONE change from Baker Street.
I can't think of any open station that it's impossible to get to in one change - even Chesham. Just wait for the right time and get the direct rush hour train.

I think Beary meant Woodford via Hainault as a hint how Chigwell is done...

I'll let beary off then

I also think Baker Street as a unique solution implies - loosely expressed - that it works "most of the day during weekdays without excessive waiting times".
Otherwise (assuming Chesham can be reached from Baker Street without change) any station between Edgware Road (H&C) and Barking or any Circle Line station, except Paddington, Bayswater, Queensway and High Street Kensington also works.
Furthermore, all Circle Line stations work if you are prepared to spend the night in Whitechapel!
