By "absolutely", you mean "not at all"?

I have never attempted to visit many stations in London. Does this mean my record is 42-and-a-half years?

If you have never revisited your first visited station, it was 42 1/2 years ago and you have visited every station up to the 42 1/2 years mark it is a yes!

I visited Heathrow Terminal 4 again before I went to Epping, so I don't hold that record - shame!
I think the station that I visited earliest now is Edgware, so as long as I don't go back to Edgware again for several years I should be able to get it

If there is a station that Neil hasn't visited for 42 years I think we better contact Guinness and ask them to cancel his and Geoff's world record!

Not necessarily - perhaps it's Heathrow Terminal 5 or Wood Lane...

Of course, it is only a valid record if during this time you have not used a private car, taxi, bicycle, etc.

Re: A new application for the slowest completion - EVER!
How about this though; I visited my first station 5 years ago and have yet to visit even 150! So I am the record holder technically!
Note none of them were as part of a full map attempt!
