Re: Musical members
A song is defined by the characteristic of having vocals. Is it possible for 4'33 to be defined as a song?

Yes, the vocals are simply sung "tacet".tractakid wrote:A song is defined by the characteristic of having vocals. Is it possible for 4'33 to be defined as a song?

Re: Musical members
Wow - only just discovered this topic exists, though I know the subject came up elsewhere a couple of weeks ago.
I'm a bit of a musician shall we say - (qualification BMus [Tonmeister] University of Surrey). So a few instruments up my sleeve - piano, pipe organ, anything keyboardy, guitar, bass, drums, cello, tin whistles etc. Playing the organ for weddings and funerals is one of my specialities (I enjoy giving people a good send-off!)
Like the tractakid, I'm in the church band - so have a large 'audience' weekly.

Re: Musical members
Audience really isn't the right term! It isn't, or at least, shouldn't be a performance, therefore it's not an audience.
You appear to have a really wide range of talents. Are you a master of all those instruments, or do you play some better than others?
Also, what taste does everyone have when listening to music?

I agree- hence the quotes round the word!tractakid wrote:Audience really isn't the right term!
Master of piano, keyboard and organ. Cello I stopped at grade 6. Others I'm slightly less skilled at - but I'll have a go at anything.tractakid wrote:Are you a master of all those instruments, or do you play some better than others?
I'm at home with anything from Gregorian Chant thru Renaissance thru Baroque thru Classical thru Romantic thru Modern thru Pop. Plus world music, with a particular liking for Celtic!tractakid wrote:Also, what taste does everyone have when listening to music?
