The thing is, I'm on here a lot of the time, and so I'd always be claiming small points here and there, thus resetting the clock. As a result, the satisfaction someone else might get from logging on and claiming "six bells" and 450 points would be lost.

I just wanted to see what the general reaction was before we got going. Probably at some point tomorrow.

I think the train driving fraternity on this forum may have an advantage as they will be able to claim points at silly o'clock when the rest of us are safely tucked up in bed!

I don't see that being a huge advantage, when they are stuck driving trains those that are office bound can continue to play whereas the train drivers can't. Besides which I think it will be quite tactical, do you keep on hoping in for 5 points for tumbelweed or do you hang on one hour for the bell?

Now you're getting the hang of it. :)

That is a good point. I will look into that. I'm not sure you can stop people editing their own posts once they have been made. I will have to examine the forum options to see what I can turn on and off in that respect.

OK, yes I can change that. I can only change it on a forum-level though, so I have now set it so that no one (except me and Chris) can edit their own posts in this thread and the game thread. Try it on one of your posts in this forum now to check it works.

Sorted then. Which means, one has to make sure they check the forum time at the top of the screen before posting!

OK, shall we get going and see how it goes to start with? Anything you need to know can be discussed in here anyway.

Great.

This is a test post to make sure my computer time matches up with the forum time as it is displayed to me.

My time zone was UTC, but I've changed it now, so it's all good.

Haven't got to that bit yet, but I will be working on something. Not many scores so far!

Are the times being worked out to the second or just the nearest minute?

People have been posting, for example "95 weed" when the thread has been inactive for 95 minutes. Shouldn't they post "19 weeds", or "95 points"? Or am I just being picky?
