Cheers for that perhaps you can give me a "nudge" as soon as the NW timetable has been scheduled and will start looking at routes

There is due to be a new Jubilee timetable on 31st July (assuming they actually finish the upgrade by then!). This should have an increased frequency to Stanmore plus reduced journey times.

The route is now fully up so if you want to get a 270 completion i think this represents a good route slight worries about cockfosters to high barnet 26m but eh its mostly downhill.

I can see how this impression has been formed, but it's a myth. Going by the contour lines on an OS map, High Barnet and Cockfosters stations are both at an elevation of 100m ±2.5m. Assuming the whole journey on foot, any reasonably straight line between the two has to cross the valley in between them created by Pymmes Brook, which at its lowest point is about 60m ±2.5m, so going between the two stations is neither uphill or downhill overall. The descent from Cockfosters to the valley floor is steeper than the climb back up to High Barnet, which may give the impression that it's "downhill" from Cockfosters to High Barnet, but you gain as much height as you lose.

The advantage is that once you have run downhill from Cockfosters to New Barnet, it is normally quicker to catch a bus the rest of the way so you don't have to run the uphill bit.

I would agree only run to new barnet and let the bus do the uphill bit.
